I'm squarely in 'People are Jerks' mode. I made the mistake of watching the news. Full of jerks hurting each other. I also found out that the Amazon River dolphin has been declared extinct. What kind of jerk kills off rare pink dolphins?? And I watched Rent, which made me cry. And Silent Hill, which made me despair of there ever being a movie set in WV that was about normal people. Jerk movie writers. We're not all lunatics, inbred, cannibals, or insane cultists! I swear! Some of us are jerks, but everybody is these days. There was another movie too... Just Like Heaven, I think. Which might've been funny if I wasn't fuming about how everybody was a jerk.
Ever notice how cranky you can get when everybody's a jerk? It happened to me. I snarled at
slayersyrena via IM and hurt her feelings. I deliberately ran the vacuum to scare the cats. I forced Mom to watch Two Towers even though I know the Ents give her nightmares. I refused to eat very much dinner so most of it had to be thrown away. I griped when I bit my lip even though it was nobody's fault but my own. I said something mean about Paris Hilton even though I don't know her. I told creepy stories to people who have to go home and spend the night alone. I did nothing to help in the kitchen, even though I said I would be more helpful. And I made up a stupid excuse to get out working over the holiday break. Cuz if everybody's a jerk, I might as well be one too.
P.S.
I know there's plenty of non-jerks in the world. On my good days, I strive to be one of them. On the bad ones, I stay home and make myself miserable.
Here's hoping tomorrow is better...
(I would say something cheerful about the sun coming out tomorrow, but it's not going to. We won't see any sunlight until January. The 21st, I think. Maybe the 23rd. Far too long.)

I have tons of photos to show you of my trip. I just need time to shrink them down to internet handy sizes.
Now to fix my stupid AIM connection...
