unknownfateIt's Wildlife Day down on the farm. Not only do we have the cicadas to watch, but we also have all kinds of deer to track, raccoons, ground hogs, and just yesterday, we found this fellow.
Isn't he/she a beaut?? He/she is a black snake and a pretty good size one at that. They're good to have around. They keep the vermin numbers down and their poisonous brethren away. It's a credit to my Dad's good sense and kind heart that he spares the helpful snakes when we all know what he'd really like to do is run over the legless-heathen-freak-beasts with a lawn mower. He's not a snake-fan.
