And yet, when mine peeked over the edge of the tub at me enjoying a post-shower soak, she somehow managed to slip and land in the water with me.She used every cat-contortion possible not to. She fought it all the way down. To my dismay, she was still scrabbling and clawing when she hit my thighs. Nothing like having a wet and panicked cat land in your lap when you're naked. Long story short: I'm injured. She's soaked.
Last night, I entered report cards into the new Powerschool system they have us using. There's 52 things to mark each student on, and I have 33 students. Sigh. That's a lot of clicking. So, at some point in the process, I started talking to myself. In Martian.
See, there's three things you have to choose from on each of the 52 subjects: ACH for Achieving, DEV for Developing, and NI for Needs Improvement. I started pronouncing the ACH as ACK. So I'm going down the list saying things like "ACH, ACH, ACH! DEV, DEV, ACH! ACH, ACH, ACH, ACH." I sounded like one of the aliens in Mars Attacks. Who, in turn, sound like irate ducks.
I suppose I could've used a Scottish Ach! instead of ACK! but the ACK! made it out of my brain first and stuck.
