Dec. 17th, 2005 04:42 pmOk, you know you're sensory-deprived when you stand in the cold and consider climbing through a pile of trash and boxes to get a sprig of pine out of the garbage. It probably came of somebody's special-ordered wreath or something. The smell of greenery stopped you in your tracks, reminding you of other places and other times.
Times when the sun shone, places where the earth was not a frozen slab. Where you aren't alone on the earth. Where trees and mountains and all the living creatures of the world still lived alongside.
Ohhhh. It didn't help that I watched the first half of March of the Penguins jus before. Nothing like the frozen bodies of cute little penguin chicks to put a body in the Christmas mood!

I know it will pass... I know it will all get better... However, sometimes I wonder if it will, and I have to remind myself that it gets better.
I know one thing. There is someone that loves you down here in NC. I guess I need to mail you a little plant to grow. :)
