Well, things started bright and early this morning. Mom arranged tickets to Bimini. Then we all set off for Pipestem national Park to go trail-riding. I was idly wandering if Hondo would be given to me again. Every time I go to Pipestem, I get Hondo. He's a good-natured trail-pony. Refuses to go faster than a trot though. Anyway, once we got there it was miserably hot and we decided that instead of dragging some poor creature through the heat and stink and clouds of flies, we'd just ride the cable tram up and down the mountain. So we did. Took a lot of pictures. Ate a lot of fudge.

Let's see, after that, we went Walmart shopping. The danger of going to a Walmart in your home town when you haven't lived there since childhood is that everyone remembers you and you have no idea who they are. There you'll be, wondering how much of HP6* you can read while the rest of your clan shops, and then someone you can't remember ever seeing before pounces on you from behind a rack of $9.99 t-shirts and calls you by your full name (only direct bloodkin is allowed to do that!) and proceeds to stare bug-eyed at you and ask all sorts of questions about how you're doing and what the rest of the family is doing and etc.

Anyway! After that, we went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I was miffed because they cut off the Goblet of Fire preview. We got half a glimpse of the dragon and then Poof! Feature Presentation time. Imagine my ire.
I liked CatCF. I thought the idea of Christopher Lee as a dentist was honestly chilling. The songs were fun. I loved the deadpan Oompaloompas. Especially Doris and the therapist-loompa.

Charlie was adorable. The other four children were wretchedly horrible as they should be. I seriously loved the squirells. I have friends who have reported a fear of the bushy-tailed tree rat so even if it hadn't been funny to see a brat attacked by a swarm of them, I would still get to picture the faces of my friends watching the same scene. Phobias are always good for a mean chuckle.

Tomorrow, weather permitting, we hike!
