Head out on the highway

Ok, so I began the day in GA. To get home, the tomtom asked if I wanted to avoid the toll roads. Cheapskate that I am, I said yes. And ended up on a rambling tour of Deliverance country! I have been in towns that would've sent Lovecraft skittering back to New England. I shoulda just paid the $2!

But I had a lovely visit with Jay and a wonderful dinner with the Jankovics. The Chattooga River is just right for sitting in when the heat index goes from OMG to WTF. Clayton is a cute little town.

I made it safely home by midnight, (take that, magic pumpkin) and the full moon was shining bright. As soon as I got out of the car in my own yard, I was rushed by something big and furry. Being a full moon and all, I jumped to the obvious conclusion, but it turned out that it was just a very large, unfamiliar husky dog. Luckily, he was friendly, or at least not hostile. He also made no attempt to squirm inside the door as soon as I opened it, so he's better brought up than the neighbor's cat.

So, to review: Pay the tolls, Thanks again to Jay and the Jankovics, and AAAAH! Oh. Hi puppy.

Ah cool :) Hey I finally got a proper roadworthy vehicle, I'd love to come up and hang out - what city are you in these days and when would be a good time? My day job tends to give me a couple of weekdays off every couple weeks, it would be great to come visit for a day or two.

I would love to see you! I'm in Peterstown and my weekends are usually available. (the 28th this month is family reunion so if you like blue grass and buffet-style eating that might be the time!) I need to get my work's schedule for the next quarter to be positive about the days off, but we can definitely work something out.
