Ok, so I began the day in GA. To get home, the tomtom asked if I wanted to avoid the toll roads. Cheapskate that I am, I said yes. And ended up on a rambling tour of Deliverance country! I have been in towns that would've sent Lovecraft skittering back to New England. I shoulda just paid the $2!

But I had a lovely visit with Jay and a wonderful dinner with the Jankovics. The Chattooga River is just right for sitting in when the heat index goes from OMG to WTF. Clayton is a cute little town.

I made it safely home by midnight, (take that, magic pumpkin) and the full moon was shining bright. As soon as I got out of the car in my own yard, I was rushed by something big and furry. Being a full moon and all, I jumped to the obvious conclusion, but it turned out that it was just a very large, unfamiliar husky dog. Luckily, he was friendly, or at least not hostile. He also made no attempt to squirm inside the door as soon as I opened it, so he's better brought up than the neighbor's cat.

So, to review: Pay the tolls, Thanks again to Jay and the Jankovics, and AAAAH! Oh. Hi puppy.

Hehehe, the back country tour sounds kind of fun, actually. If only because I'm so used to where I live that seeing wildly different towns/houses/ways of living in this country would be cool.

Doggy! Now that I would have jumped out of my skin over.

Haven't seen a husky around here before or since, so I don't know where it came from or where it went. But the trip was a lot of fun.
