Mar. 17th, 2009 04:50 pmI'm too easily distracted for yoga. My sister got me a yoga starter kit for Christmas and I haven't made it all the way through the half hour workout yet! I suck. There I'll be, in Corpse Pose, trying to breath right, and just about the time we go into the limbering pose, I spot something shiny and wander off. Maybe I've been around the children too long.
I've considered including a book to read while I lay there, but I don't know all the poses, or what to do, so I have to pay attention and listen, and I get distracted. I guess I need to just keep at it until I know it well enough to do it without having to watch the video closely. Then again, reading a book whilst yoga-ing may defeat the purpose. It might be hard to deepen my levels of awareness while I'm reading ghost stories.
But this is the time of year when I start to try to shed the winter pudge. Now that the sun is back hopefully my metabolism will stop screaming about hoarding every life-giving calorie so that we can survive the winter. It's convinced I'll starve. Not likely.
