Wow. What a day.

We had the TB test shots today. Most of the kids took it pretty well. I only had to hold three of them down for the nurses to stick. Some of them were very brave and took the jab, picked a sticker, and then swaggered out to face the rest of the day. Others curled into a ball and shrieked like their blood had turned to bees. They got stickers too. And some tried to fight! Kicking and punching and yelling 'NOOOOO'... They didn't count on my grappling proficiency though. I pinned 'em and the nurses did the rest. Hah!

The sun was setting as I left work at 4:00. Now, at 7:30, it feels like it should be late. And it's not! I have stuff to do before I crash! And all I want to do is put on my comic book jammies and sleep.

I pity you. You sound like the two poor women who had to hold me down every year for various jabs. The nurse would put her chair up against the door handle, and the other two would corner me. I'm not even kidding.
Glad you survived though. Are you bruised much? x

I just don't have any patience for it. And it might be because I was never allowed to be a pain. If I had ever actually DISOBEYED a doctor (or any authority figure of any kind...) the shot would've been the very least of my worries. My butt would've been glowing by the time the beating was over. I didn't have a choice, and I knew it. Which is why a kid saying "But I don't want to" and whining and crying means nothing to me, and trying to kick and fight me just pisses me off.
