Back On Land!
Apr. 18th, 2015 09:40 pmI'm back! The folks let me tag along on one of their adventures and this time, we went to Roatan and Belize and Costa Maya and Cozumel. It was fantastically wonderful. The beaches in Roatan were beautiful. The water was the most amazing color. We went to little zoo and I met the first monkey that I wasn't terrified of. It was a spider monkey, elderly and very gentle. There was also a tiny capuchin that didn't scream or steal my glasses or attack my hair at all. We got to pet the world's tamest coatamondi. As cute as they are, they have inch long fangs.
Belize was my favorite. We went to Altun Ha to see the Mayan ruins and it was AMAZING. We got a local man to drive us around and he was wonderful. He took us to eat at a place called Tropicolada where I had fried fish and rice and beans. So good. Amazingly good.
Costa Maya was more laid back. We spent most of the day at the Krazy Lobster Beach. I got my first sunburn in probably 20 years. We saw frigate birds.
Cozumel was the hottest place yet. We went snorkeling and saw a sea lion show. There was also a tequila tasting. I have never liked tequila, but it turns out I just never had any of the good stuff. Because wow. We ate at a place called Pancho's Backyard, which was incredible.
The boat ride was awesome too. The food was great every single night and we got to see Gary Lovini perform. If you ever get a change to take a cruise, even a small one, I totally recommend it.
