It just seems so unlikely. I mean Steve Irwin getting killed.

They were saying it was probably instant, which is good, I guess. As much as he knew about critters, if he had time to realize what had happened, he would've had time to be afraid. I always thought that the being afraid seeemed like the worst part of dying.

And it seems like such a freak accident! To have lived such a charmed life with such dangerous animals and then to be killed by something that school children get to pet in aquarium touch-tanks! And I know that all animals are dangerous in their own ways and that they don't have to be nine feet long and full of teeth to kill you. Steve was always so fearless, and it seemed to be well-founded. Even when they did manage to hurt him, it was never bad enough to stop him from going in again. It was like he was invincible as far as animals were concerned. He believed it, and managed to convince me of it, too. All I can figure is that it must've been his Time.

Yes, I was very shocked, then sad to hear about Steve Irwin's death. He was so young (only 44). I feel for his family.

I remember swimming right next to a stingray before. I didn't know how dangerous they could (potentially) be.

I was so sad. I actually cried. He seemed like such a genuine, happy, lovely guy. *sniffle*

I'm so sorry! I did reply, but now that I'm looking, my post isn't showing up. What I had said before was that Earl at the Radio Station was probably your best bet, and I'm surprised that he hasn't replied since he's in to here and there info. I can try to get hold of him if you'd like.

You could also try to contact NARL or the DEWline radar station. There's a bunch of links here (http://www.sdsa.org/pisces/ARCTIC/summer_2003/kjournal.htm) too that might help you out. Sorry again that you had to wait on me!
