going to work without headphones ever again. Never.

Without them, people just walk up to me and start talking like we're not strangers. And tell me things they shouldn't tell strangers! I don't want to hear about the long, hot baths the man old enough to be my father keeps telling me about! I don't want to know how many different 'my baby's daddy' one woman has! I don't want to know what the bathroom was like the last time so-and-so went in it!

Curse my approachable demeanor!! Why can't I have some sort of hostile vibe that says 'Do not talk to me. I do not care about any of you. I don't care about anything that's EVER happened to you. Don't tell me about it. Any of it. Go about your business and I won't bite your nose from your face and spit it at you.'

But I don't. Apparently there's some sort of blinking sign over my head that everyone can see but me. "Unburden your soul!" it flashes. "Voice all thoughts here!"

Oof.

I hate that job.

I try to be that FOAD now but it's not working! The constant noise and filth level seem to be negating it. I took headphones today though and it wasn't bad.

It's spring, my dear. The trolls have awakened from their winter sleep and now go in search of worthy mates. You should be flattered that this one has recognized your worthiness.
