Macy's Day Parade. Even I'm just eating peanut butter and kool-aid for Thanksgiving, I have to watch the parade. I got to be there in person when I was seven and that was long enough ago that my clearest memory of it was being cold and that the street vendor pretzels are not as good as they smell. But it was awesome enough to implant the need to see it every year.
