Mar. 11th, 2012 11:44 amHappy Birthday to me and
nitrofieja! I hope NF's is better than mine, but mine may get better.
There was a line from an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer where she says something like 'You could mash all my toes with a hammer and it would still be my best birthday ever.' Mine haven't been that bad, but it does seem that bad things happen on my birthdays. Last year it was the earthquake in Japan. I think there was a mass shooting the year before that. When I was kid it was a massive teacher strike that nearly put everyone I knew out of work. When I was in college, one of my hallmates died of a peanut allergy. This year, I lost my Grandma.
I want to thank everybody who sent me hugs and messages over the past few days. I appreciate it! It's been hard to see her slip away, since she's been such a big part of the whole clan's life. She's been our rock and our caretaker, always ready to laugh and find everybody something to eat. The worst is over now, so the rest of us have to keep on going.
Thanks again!
