My class of four year olds were arguing about who had erased the bottom half of the dry erase board drawings and one blamed it on a monster. Eventually, the blame worked its way around to a platypus.
One of the boys lit up. "Perry the Platypus!" he crowed, which was especially funny because not only do we have another boy named Perry in the class, but I have recently fallen in love with the Phineas and Ferb show, so I got the reference.
"And what noise does a platypus make?" I asked, just to be a jerk. And so help me, the little guy did a decent imitation of the noise Perry makes in the show. (Here after the song) I laughed and laughed, which made all the other kids try.
If you think that sounds stupid, you try making that noise. I couldn't do it. I wonder if that's a sound effect they invented or if that's a real platypus sound. Don't know! But it's cute!
