unknownfate: (sealing fate)
As most people who know me know, I like the ghosty shows on TV. So, when I have the TV to myself, I'm usually watching Weird Travels, or Ghosthunters, or A Haunting, or something like that.

A Haunting is on the Discovery Channel, but I'm thinking they can show it on the Lifetime network too. The episodes seem to go along the same lines as most of the Lifetime movies...

A family moves into new place. It's the home of their dreams or the best house they could afford and they're amazed to get it at such a good price or something similar. Things start happening to the children first. Then, the mother starts to experience things. The experiences and the timelines vary, but the thing that always seems to happen is that the father-figure doesn't believe them.

The Dad always brushes it off. It's imaginations run wild, old house noises, swamp gas, something normal. Kids are being pushed downstairs by invisible hands, speaking Latin, seeing other faces appearing in mirrors, or staying up all night playing with little girls who live under a tree in the yard, and the Dad walks around saying "Must be this old plumbing!"

Quite of few of the marriages mentioned in the show fall apart, sometimes violently (like the guy who pulled a Shining and tried to axe his way through a door to get to his wife) Sometimes, they make the family stronger. It's a common theme.

And that's almost every Lifetime movie I've ever had to sit through! Fmaily starting over in a new place, with a new hope for a new life. Then, the PAST finds them.... Will their love survive? All this, plus a weepy soundtrack. Now we just add a supernatural element, and it's entertainment!
