Sometimes you just know when things have gone horribly wrong. Sometimes it's a feeling in your gut, a tingle in your teeth, or a little psychic itch in your mind to let you know that all is not right in the world.

I didn't need any sixth sense to clue me in. One of the original five worked just fine. As soon as I stuck my head through the door when I got home, I was sent staggering back by the stink. I don't know what is in the new catfood, but it takes no prisoners. Even now, a full hour after cleaning out the litter box, there is still a lingering presence. And I cleaned with clorox.

Pound for pound, cats can produce more sound and stink than other animals ten times their size. It is unreal.

And yeah, cats definitely do that.

It seems ok now, thankfully. There's a Get Fuzzy comic strip where someone comments on how bad the cat's breath is and the cat says something like "Odor is just one of the weapons in my campaign for dominance." The owner just admits that it's a problem.
