I was standing there talking to the SPED teacher and then all of a sudden, she was standing at an angle and the ceiling was to the left. Timber! Down I went. Vertigo is nasty, and this one hit me out of nowhere. It spun the whole room, melted my legs, and left me in a heap clutching my head. I've never fainted before, and though I didn't lose consciousness, I imagine that must be close to what it's like.
It only lasted a few seconds, thankfully, and I could sit up again. Teachers and students had gathered around. It was my K3's playtime, and the poor three year olds thought I'd been beaned in the head with one of the soccer balls. (They were a little worried over who was going to be in trouble for that...)
I'm still not quite right. There's a fuzzy, almost-ache in my ear and a more definite ache in my head, but I'm not reeling or nauseous, so I'm counting my blessings. I'm going to take it easy tonight and see about getting an appointment tomorrow. I'm pretty sure no one up here can do anything, but maybe they can refer me to somebody in Anchorage or Fairbanks. If they can, I might get to see Coraline after all! Everything has a bright side!
