Last night, I slept so hard my ear went to sleep. I’ve never had that happen before. I’ve curled up on my own arm many a time and found it a limp bundle of needle jabs in the morning. It has happened to a leg on occasion too. But never my ear.

And to top it off, I went to bed two hours early and still could barely drag out before the alarm. (I hate my alarm. Just turning it on is usually enough to get me awake before it goes off, just so I can turn it off before I hear that infernal sound.) Not this week, though. All I can figure is that the best hours for sleeping really are 4am to 8am. Which doesn’t help when you have to be at work by 7:30.

I was awake at a little before 2am, though. I remember because I debated turning on the light to write down a dream about superheroes and the building from the Ghostbusters movie, but decided that this was one I would remember (of course, I don’t). The cat woke me up. She was making a little crying noise in her sleep. Maybe it was just a weird snore, but she sounded just like a crying child.

It’s a bit disconcerting to wake up thinking there’s a crying child in bed with you and then finding out your ear is still asleep. And just what were all those superheroes doing around Spook Central anyway??

The ear falling asleep thing... that happens to me from time to time. Really painful and forces me to sleep on my other side (even though while pregnant it's harder to sleep on my right side than my left).

LOL you are frickin hilarious! At my house the children aren't crying or snoring, they are staring at me whispering, "wake up mommy, wake up mommy" like a chant. I've never had my ear fall asleep, but the balls of my feet do. We are weird :-)

It's a first for me... though by now I should be used to weirdness from my ears.

I heard Mount Redoubt in Alaska is about to blow. Is it possible for the jet streams to blow the ash up to Barrow? (I guess I'm asking if you guys will be safe).

It is funny, I'll give you that! The weird little Michael Jackson voice from the little mouth too...

No one seems too worried. I've only heard one person mention it.
