Welll, the lawn mower will not start. However in the back of the garage we have one of those old-fangled hand mowers with the whirly blade things. So I gave that a try. After an hour, I was exhausted and I have blisters that would make you stare. Phew.
So after that, I took myself to see Pirates of the Caribbean at World End. Wow. I tried not to give anything major away, but I put it behind a cut to be safe.
Whah!
First of all, I would buy the soundtrack for the song the prisoners sing alone... Hoist the Colors.
I only thought I liked Tia Dalma before. She's so cool!
And Ragetti got all kinds of crazy cool points in this one. First of all, for being able to say the words like a lover. ( and where the blazes did Barbossa learn love-talk if that's the way he sweettalks to the ladies??) And second of all for being the secret keeper of one of the pieces of eight. Which makes me wonder.... if captains only give the pieces to their successors, and Barbossa gave his to Ragetti...? Hmm.
But speaking of Barbossa, he wins the prize for manic glee and the joy in doing what you love. Even if it's engaging in a ship battle in the middle of a whirlpool, or performing marriage ceremonies in the middle of a hand to hand battle. Gotta love him.
And I had heard Keith Richards was going to be in it as Jack's daddy, and I expected him to be somewhere at World's End (that is to say DEAD). I have to admit that for such a creepy old guy, he makes for a really badass-looking pirate.
Okay, I'm going to get really spoilery if I keep going. Long story short, I loved it!
