Turns out, October is Fire Prevention Month. Some of the local firefighters came in and did a puppet show to teach the little kids to Stop, Drop, and Roll. Not a bad idea, except that it also turns out that three year olds are afraid of puppets. The guy in the Sparky the Firedog costume also caused tears, as did the sight of a fireman in his full gear.

Personally, I found him rather attractive. Maybe it's the uniform, maybe it's just been too long since I've been on a real date, but rawr.

Anyway, I pray that these kids will never be in a real fire, because if they see a fireman coming through the smoke, they'll probably run hide in a closet and die of smoke inhalation.

Wow. You guys have months for everything.
*Sian hates boring Britain*
We have Bonfire Night, on the fifth of November, which actually encourages three year old children (among others) to make and then burn effigies of Guy Fawkes on ginormous bonfires made of gates, two by fours, old pianos, and other stolen wooden articles. Then we play with sparklers, let off enormous fireworks, and wear woolly hats to prevent excessive sound-related inner ear damage that comes with them.
So *raspberries* to your fire-safety month! Come to Britain! Aka Pyromaniac Land. At least in November. After that, it's just plain Maniac Land.
With lots of rain.

Well, if it rained that much here, fires wouldn't be so worrisome! As it is, we have super-dry air and over 3000 wood dwellings within arms reach of each other and they's chock full of kerosene heaters, gas pipes, and the while shebang. Kind of a Mrs. O'Leary kind of thing!

So it's not a good idea if...

... I come to Barrow and rope you all into celebrating Bonfire Night with me then? Hee hee. Perhaps I should. Then you would have reason to call out your fireman friend to save you from a burning building, at which you could swoon most fetchingly over his shoulders as he carries you to safety. ^_^

I don't swoon fetchingly... I'm not a swoon-type. The closest I come is a dizzy spell and that usually involves me swearing under my breath and trying not to throw up... Hardly the things that dreams are made of!

I had a really weird dream with you in the other night. I can't remember rightly what, but it was very random, and you WERE there... so you are a factor of dreaminess! *tries not to sound lesbian*...
