The Nothing had come to Karnak while everyone was there. So, the big fortress is being picked apart and everyone is dodging debris as it falls. Rorschach blames Veidt for it all, and gives a more righteous version of the Gmork's final speech. (Something like "Took away peoples' hopes and dreams of peace and assumptions of safety. People who have no hopes are easy to control." etc.)
Veidt accuses him of living in a fairy tale. Time to grow up and face reality. And then everybody fights while Jon looks on and the Nothing rages outside and at some point I wondered through with an armful of paperwork. That's my cameo, the Karnak underling too insignificant to even poison. I had a mortal dread of Bubastis because I was pretty sure she was what had brought the Nothing here. She looked awfully smug for homemade hearth candy.
