Exhausted and footsore, I'm already planning for next year! I had a blast, and I think everybody else did too. It began in the rain and the lightning and the wind. We drove all into the night to get there and arrived a little before midnight. Everybody was there already (they made fun of us for being late, but THEY didn't have to go through Tornado Jr to get there!) We tried to get some sleep and the next day, the fun started.

I spent most of the first day running around the dealer's room, the art show, and the exhibit hall. Spent way too much money, but acquired some awesome, awesome stuff. My friends with birthdays in the fall and winter should be getting some Dragoncon loot as presents. The rest of you will have to wait for Christmas.

By Day 2, the situation that an artist in the comic page drawing competition dubbed 'Elevatorcon' had emerged. We spent more time waiting for or crammed into the elevators than anything else! You never want to be trapped in an elevator with three stormtroopers, a goth fairy with pointy-yet-fragile wingspan, (don't squash my wings! Get them out of eye! etc.) a small nomadic tribe of gamers, and something I assume was one of the Yu-Gi-Oh monsters. Yeesh.

I also got to see Ray Parks give lightsaber lessons and do a neat flip in the air thing for us. Right after that, was Brad Dourif and it was freeforall to ask him the goofiest possible questions. Poor man.
That night was the concert. I was half-deafened by Ghost of the Robot and it took me a full 20 minutes of staring to realize that it was James Marsters up there. Then Cruxshadows came on and was the much better show, even if the sound system had gone wonky by then. After that, it was anime videos!

Day 3 was spent running around. We saw performances by Emerald Rose and Voltaire, which was fun. Except for the freaky dancing girl at the Voltaire one. Everytime I hear his music from now on, I'm going to see in the back of my mind a pair of bright green pants on a skinny butt and topped with the worst haircut ever to escape a lawnmower. But what matters is she was having a good time, I guess. Even if I did have to lean way around her for a long time. And then it was more anime videos til about 4 in the morning.

And then on the last day it was time to drive back. We got blinding heat instead of rain, but by then, we had enough loot to keep us gloating and happy. That's about it for now. I have dropped off my film and will upload pictures as soon as they are available.
