Saturday! How I've longed for it. Now it's here. A day for sleeping in, and laundry, and oatmeal cookies, and a half-hearted attempt to move the clutter in my room to new piles. I also have a cheesecake date with my sister. We usually snort and giggle and critique the waitstaff. We try to tip well to make up for it.
Today's fic is here. Most Haunted came on while I was writing, so I figured I'd do a fic for them too. I don't actually watch the show much anymore. I like Ghosthunters better. It's more convincing to have someone freeze and say "I thought I saw.... Play the tape back. Ok. No. That was my shadow. Let's keep moving." than to squeal and swear and accuse the camera man of moaning in your ear. But whatever.
My Dad told me once that of all the things people claim to have seen or heard, of the millions of UFO sightings, and hauntings, and Bigfoot sightings throughout history, only ONE has to be true to make them all valid. If just ONE UFO sighting is real, than there IS life on other planets visiting us. If just ONE of the noises in ONE old house in the world is a ghost, then there IS life after death and ghosts can return to the physical world. If just ONE giant footprint found in the woods isn't a human, bear, or known animal, than there IS an unknown creature living under our noses. From such a non-believer as he is, that's quite a statement.
And on the subject of paranormal TV, did anybody watch a show called 'Haunted' that was out a few years ago? It had Matthew Fox in it, I think, and it was about a cop who had a near death experience while fighting the serial killer who took his son. When he was revived, he could see dead people. It only lasted a few episodes, but I really liked it. I gotta see if it's on dvd yet.
