Home ALone
The folks are in Florida! It’s a teacher’s conference. Being no fools, teachers plan conferences in fun places. A few years ago it was held in New Orleans so that after the meeting, they all went Mardi Gras-ing. It’s especially fun for teachers in areas that don’t have a nice February. Like Barrow, for instance.
In the meantime, I get to eat ice cream for breakfast and watch the Camp Lazlo marathon instead of Law and Order. (Nothing against Law and Order, but now that there’s five different versions, an organized channel-hopper can watch it indefinitely. And my Mom will.)
Another set music on shuffle and let it decide which answer to each question thing. Fun!
How are you feeling today?
Bachelorette by Bjork.
Like a killer whale trapped in a bay, I guess.
Will you get far in life?
Older Men by The Floating Men
As far as the next playfully dangerous stranger!
How do your friends see you?
Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace
So what if you can see the darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Wow. No wonder they don't visit...
Will you get married?
I Don't Feel Like Loving You Today by Gretchen Wilson.
"I'll wind up forgiving you
And probably loving you for the rest of my life...
But I don't feel like loving you today"
Doesn't look good. But there may be hope.
What is your best friend's theme song?
Alcohol by Barenaked Ladies
I'm not sure what friend that might be...
What is the story of your life?
Underground by David Bowie.
Lost and lonely and rejected, but I'll find someone true underground. Hm.
What was high school like?
Leap of Faith by Big & Rich
Oom-de-ah, the stars are falling
Oom-de-ah, the sky is calling
Oom-de-ah, de-ah-de-ooh.
(Which explains why I didn't pay attention in Algebra...)
How can you get ahead in life?
Anywhere by Evanescence
By unstopping my heart and dropping my guard. Sounds like a clumsy plumber, doesn't it?
What is the best thing about your friends?
Seashores of Old Mexico by George Strait
They'd meet me in Mexico after I fled the arm of the law?
What is in store for this weekend?
You took the Words Right Out of My Mouth by Meatloaf
I should be so lucky.
To describe your grandparents?
Come on Eileen by Save Ferris
These people round here wear beaten down eyes
Sunk in smoke dried faces
They're so resigned to what their fate is
But not us (no never), no not us (no never)
We are far too young and clever
By all accounts, my grandparents were a scrappy bunch...
How is your life going?
Roll Down the Windows and Drive by The Floating Men
A stone's throw closer to home
We can ride around with the radio on
Now we can stay and be slaves to our beepers and phones
Or we can roll down the windows and drive
Just cruisin', I guess.
What song will they play at your funeral?
Crazy by Gnarles Barkley
And I hope that you are having the time of your life
But think twice, that's my only advice
Advice from beyond the gravvvvve...
How does the world see you?
Magic Dance by David Bowie.
I'm the babe with the power, apparently.

Oh what a thrill

travel far and wander wide
No photograph of you beside me
Do people secretly lust after you?

Walk through the fire
And let it burn
What should you do with your life?
Can't Fight the Moonlight by Leann Rimes .
"You can try to resist Try to hide from my kiss

Deep in the dark You'll surrender your heart
But you know But you know that you can't fight the moonlight "
