A Turnip for Your Thoughts

We saw whales! Two of them. They were gray whales and they were cruising the beach shallows to scrape barnacles off. You could see one spout and then it would loll over on its side and back and wave its tail and fins in the air while it scraped. It was cool!

The other day we saw a snowy owl on the lookout for lemmings. It still had its summer plumage so we almost missed it. But, it turned its head to look at us and those yellow eyes were a give away.

We had a bonfire last night. There was fireworks and food and drinks and strange conversations about breast reductions and moving to Korea and someone was quoting How The Grinch Stole Christmas. For once, it wasn't me!

How cool getting to see those whales up close!

The bonfire sounded fun. And who's talking about moving to Korea? Friends of yours?

The L.R.R.S station up here is being closed/downsized/something like that. So a lot of the DEWline guys are seeing what else is out there, and apparently there's radar station jobs in Korea somewhere.

I can't believe Steve Irwin is dead! It's so weird!
