Everybody else is crazy, why not me?
I'm not going. I'm not going to be there.
I'm such a cheapskate and a coward that I miss things often. In my own defense, I have been in employment limbo for several years now, and that doesn't show much sign of changing. I miss weddings and funerals, births and birthdays. I believe the phrase I'm looking for is 'trapped like a rat.' I suppose if I wasn't a cheapskate and a coward, I could gnaw off a limb. But severed limbs are expensive. And they probably hurt. So I guess I'll sit here until I grow some sort of spine. Hm.

Is everything all right? I understand why you couldn't make it to my wedding, after all, you were only stuck on the top of the world!
