Safe to go in the water?

Of all the things I gripe about where Barrow is concerned, I do have to admit they have an awesome library. The other day, I was in there and I found an itty bitty comic about mermaids. The artwork was all retro-cute, and it was full of sex, violence, and cute baby mermaids messily devouring sailors. Just a little bit trippy. The whole thing is by Junko Mizuno, who I hadn't heard of before. It's amazing what you find in the far reaches of the arctic.

you are so fabulous.

The pictures are quite lovely.

Mary and I were talking about your theory on the month of February. I swear this month feels like it has take about a year! Wow, I am going to seriously do a happy dance (a la Snoopy) on the first day of March.

One more day to go... And the gray beast of February will be left behind for another year...Onto the gray beast of March!

(Month beasts are kinda hard to tell apart up here...)

ooohh....

Luckily for you, it's a bit to chilly to wilfully enter Barrow waters, right??

Psh! We're now entering the time in Barrow known as 'spring'. Soon, the poor fools driven mad by cold, darkness, and cabin fever will venture like migrating lemmings to the shore. There, they will join the Polar Bear club, just because it's something to do. I am one of those fools. I did it my first year here. Somehow, I haven't felt the desire to do it again, and why should I? Membership is lifelong, they tell me.
