Day 2 of the Earache.

Went to the hospital. As usual, as far as they can tell, there's nothing wrong with me. Some people want a cure. I just want an ailment that has discernible symptoms. As it is, it's my word against theirs and I get sent home to take Sudafed and drink a lot of water.

Maybe I'm on the 'Crazy List' at the hospital. I know they have one. I heard some employees talking about the list they have of patients who come in and either lie outright or imagine all kinds of hideous symptoms and demand random medication for them. Since they won't leave without getting something, the docs prescribe them harmless stuff. Kinda like the 'Pirin' tablets on The Birdcage, I'm thinking.

I did whine enough that they gave me some ear drops, so it wasn't a total waste. Unless it's just olive oil that they crammed into a drop bottle. It kinda feels like it.

Wow, I'm sorry they're not more sympathetic. But I doubt you're on their "Crazy List." I've heard doctors are advising people more and more to wait out earaches.

You're probably right. An earache is just frustrating because you can't get to it to help it. And since I have all kinds of ear troubles anyway, (and it took four different doctors to figure that out) I'm touchy about it. And whiny.

Aw, you don't sound whiny. Earaches suck.

Yikes - earaches are so painful! I had to laugh at the pirin tablet thing, that is the funniest movie :-) That hospital is completely incompetent from what I have experienced so even if they do put you on the crazy list it's because they can't figure out anything. Bitter? Me? No way! :-)

Luckily mine wasn't really terrible. Just enough to get on my nerves and make it hard to sleep or eat... On second thought that does seem pretty terrible!
