One of the lesser known cat holidays...
Knock Things Over Day started at midnight and the celebration began. The cats slapped stuff around all through the wee hours. I was woken up at least twice that I remember clearly and I have a few vaguer recollections of being snapped awake by various sounds. A bowl of change being batted off a dresser onto the baseboard heater sounds like the Apocalypse at 2 am.
At one of my more awake moments during all this, I remember wondering why there had never been a Star Trek/Alien crossover. The Enterprise got Tribbles and green chicks in harem-wear, but not xenomorphs? How would the Borg handle a hive in one of their cubes? I decided that if such a movie were ever made, I would probably watch it. Then, I went back to sleep until the cats decided that there were too many books on the shelf and not enough on the floor.
Sometime between then and 5 am, I dreamed that some cartoon monsters, lead by one named Barthomiel, were holding a pageant at the elementary school so Barthomiel could pick which person he wanted for his own. There was food and you could buy postcards of trees that looked like animals. I considered getting the one with the trees that had grown together to look like a mammoth. It was pretty cool.
