So, there I was IMing with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
eternal_chimera when the power goes out.
It's -48 with windchills in the -60s. No power means no heat. Or light, since we don't get daylight for another week and a half. So Mom starts speculating on how long it will take for the plumbing to freeze and for us to go crazy with nothing to do in the dark. I predicted a vampire attack. But we were only without juice for about half an hour, we didn't freeze to death, and no undead showed up. The cats slept through the whole thing. Some guardian-beasts they are.
So more inconvenience than suffering was involved. But the cable is out. That's gotta count for something.
