Probably just swamp gas.

We have snow on the ground. Winter is upon us. Still no ice in sight on the ocean though.

I was reading up on that meteorite that fell in Peru. Everyone who went near it got sick. They said it evaporated some underground water when it hit and the arsenic in the water got into the air. People breathed it and got sick.

Well, today's article said that there was no real sickness, just mass hysteria, and it's possible that there wasn't even a meteor. So, what left the crater? Possibly a hydrothermal explosion. But... didn't witnesses say they say something hit the area? They thought it was a plane crash. And why would an underground pocket of water explode all by itself?

The Zombie Survival Guide warns us about such doin's. If there's weird happenings and then all of a sudden there's an announcement that says there was absolutely nothing weird about it, but the explanation is weirder than the first report, there may be zombies afoot.

Then again, it could've been a weather balloon. Or some swamp gas! Or the reflection of Venus. Or swamp gas from a weather balloon that was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus. (to quote Agent Kay)

I was kind of wondering if it was mass hysteria myself, but I figured it could have been something from the crater itself, not the meteorite.

I really thought there was a meteorite though.

Then again, maybe I'd just better stockpile... whatever you stockpile against zombies.

The book says to get upstairs with anything you need to last out a seige and then destroy all the stairs and ways up. The undead aren't nimble climbers, it claims.

When one person gets sick here, everyone gets sick. We don't even need meteorites.

the meteor could be me

Psh. Barrow is infection central. Isolated community, large population trapped in close quarters...All of us breathing on each other.... I've already spread the crud to the other teachers at work. I'm bringing the place down from the inside.

And in only slightly related news, the vampire movie about Barrow should be out soon too! 30 Days of Night.

You're spreading the disease from within? I'll just have to start calling you the 'Vector' (creature that carries and transmits biological wmd's).

Did the vampire filmakers actually film in Barrow?

aka Vector

Vector's a cool name! I'll take it.

I don't think anyone involved with the graphic novel has been closer to Barrow than the word on a map. But we'll see!

All right. You can add Vector to your list of official idenities. ;)

So, it's a graphic novel AND a film?

Yep. Remember that really grim guest artist we had at RSAD once? That painted all the freaky oil paintings with his fingers? The comic looks kinda like something he'd do. And it's a decent story except for the parts that make you go "mrrh?" But only real Barrowites would know that.

The books been out a few years, but the movies just about to come out. I hope it's at least fun? (I've given up on being scared by goofy movies, but I do like to be entertained.)

I can't remember that guy... Though most of the guest artists we had were a bit on the... obnoxious side.

I hope the movie is fun too. Are you going to order it?
