31_days fic for today )

The folks rented a cabin down by the lake this weekend and I got to tag along. We went to the harvest fest, went hiking, and hung out with [livejournal.com profile] huntsman_77 for most of the day. Then we got home and my youngest sister was here! Good times.

Fic of the Day:Storyteller

I went to a goodbye party for some friends tonight and ended up taking a shot of peppermint schnapps for the farewell toast. Like a chug of Listerine! Bleah. [livejournal.com profile] huntsman_77 tells me it's nice in hot chocolate, but in shot form, reminds me of a poor dental hygiene decision. Yuck.

TGIF. And that's all I have to say about that.

Fic of the Day:Storyteller. Not my best use of a prompt but, oh well.

I saw something strange and unusual today. I was driving past the playground below the bank, and the little rocking ride dinosaur (like this, but a purple dinosaur)was really bobbing up and down. I mean, really bobbing. The way one of those things can only bob if a kid about 10 years too old for it is riding it. Except that there was no kid. Granted, it was a windy day, but the swings were barely moving and none of the other equipment was moving like that. It was a little eerie.

In the meantime, a book I ordered arrives the same night I have to write a paper. Like I need that kind of distraction. Being in the same town with internet is usually enough to drag me away from an assessment standards paper about sight word recognition in the pre-K years. To be honest, since I started writing this paper, I have also developed a preoccupation with getting my hands on some Count Chokula cereal (do they even still make it?) and managed to write a ficlet (admittedly not my best one) for a prompt I was perfectly willing to pass by since I had something more important to do.

I'm usually not this distractable.

My dreams are overlapping. At some point in the past, I dreamed that I was at some convention were one of the things I got was big sheets of poster-sized pose reference. Last night, I dreamed I was cleaning out some old artwork and found the reference posters. I was all happy, because I had thought I had just dreamed that I had them.

Turns out I was just dreaming that I had just dreamed that I had them. Now, I'm awake, with no reference, and I still have to clean out all that artwork. Darn my capricious subconscious.

On the other hand, I did a fic I liked. It's longer than my usual [livejournal.com profile] 31_days entry, and I didn't start it with 'He' like I was trying to this week, but it's still one of my favorites so far.

First sick day of the year and for the same reason as last time... I lost my voice. So I've been trying to sleep and drink lots of fluids. I also ate half a container of Neopolitan Dynamite under the pretense that ice cream is good for my throat. I did get some writing done though.
